Chia is a suburb of Soriano, just a couple miles outside of town. The Presepe Vivente (Living Manger) is a tradition held in many towns in the area, each competing for the best. These towns literally convert entire sections of the historical center of town into a recreation of ancient Bethlehem. This is usually held On December 25th, 26th, then for several days between Jan 1 and Jan 6. It is trulay amazing.

Vetralla is a town about 20 minutes from Soriano. The Presepe Vivente (Living Manger) is a tradition held in many towns in the area, each competing for the best. Vetralla's Presepe Vivente is different from most, as they elected not to recreate Bethlehem, but to instead recreate the Vetralla of the 19th century. You will walk among hundreds of villagers who are playing the role, taste food of the time, and even watch them make fresh ricotta cheese (which you can try). It is a wonderful experience.
