One size never fits all. Our tours may or may not be for you, so have a look at this section to see if we are a fit. After all, if you don't have a great time, neither do we.

01.

Major physical limitations

First things first... Italy requires walking. The hilltowns all have inclunes and small roads that vehicles cannot reach, so you will spend a great deal of time walking. If you have any phisical condition that would cause a problem in this respect, or you simply don't want to exert any physical energy, our tours will not be for you. On the other hand, a week in Italyt will do wonders in toning your legs and bottom :-)

02.

Attitude is everything

Our tours are extremely casual, relaxed and care-free. We take things as they come and laugh quite a bit. We are touring Italy, and Italian life has many oddities. Things don't always go as they should. The major tourist centers are fabricated to hide much of the culture from you. We embrace the oddities of Italian culture and laugh as we encounter them. If you have a positive and fun attitude toward your trip, you will have the time of your life. You will bring home fun stories that you will tell for the rest f your life. However, if you want everything to be precise and calculated, you would be better served by staying in a Marriot or Sheraton and taking a big bus tour of the cities.

03.

You should be open to a new and different culture

As mentioned above, much of Italian culture is hidden from you when you stay in big tourist centers. With our tours you will encounter things that just don't make sense to you, such as why a waiter looks puzzled when you ask for a To-Go bag after a meal. There will be many 'Why do they do that' moments. You will also be amazed when you experience true Italian hospitality. While restaurants in the tourist centers rip foreigners off regularly, once you get into the REAL Italy, you will find restaurants that bring you more food and better service because you are their guests.

A Panino is not a Panini... and don't look for Ciabatta Burgers

Some people come to Italy and can't wait to try a 'Panini', or they can't wait to have a real Italian Submarine Sandwich... or... or... or...
Outside of Italy, we have created many things that are marketed as being Italian, but are not at all. For example, 'Panini' is something born of 'Panino' (Panini is plural for Panino), which is Italian for 'Sandwich'. But overseas, we have decided that any sandwich made with a bread that seems Italian, and is somehow warmed up is an Italian 'Panini'. This is just not so. The same goes for Submarine Sandwiches, Ciabatta, Focaccia, etc. For example, you may be accustomed to going into Italian restaurants and finding Focaccia bread on the table with some olive oil and vinegar on the table for dipping. This is something you will NEVER see in Italy. To start, Focaccia as we know it is something you only get in the morning in Italy, and the concept of dipping anything in olive oil and vinegar is an American invention.

Instead, you will have the real thing. Most people quickly exclaim how much better the real thing is, but some (very few) people come with false expectations and find themselves saddened by the fact that there is really no such thing as a Spaghetti Alfredo... or 'Turkey Breast and Sun Dried Tomato Paninis'... or 'Italian Dressing'.
