How we are different PDF Print E-mail

We fill a space between vacation rentals and hotels.

A hotel offers you many conveniences that traditional vacation rentals don't. They have housekeeping services, business services, laundry, porters, concierge, information desks, and much more. They are designed so that certain core needs that simplify your stay are all found under one roof.

To the contrary, when you think of a traditional vacation rental, it is a very on-your-own experience. You show up, get some keys, and you are completely on your own. To some, this may be a bit scary, especially in a foreign country where you don't speak the language. To others, this may seem like too much work, having to figure everything out. And still others thrive in this type of scenario, wanting to fully immerse themselves in the local culture.

We are different than hotels and traditional vacation rentals

We offer the comfort and convenience a luxury hotel would, but only if you want it. If you don't want it, it will be as if it were not there in the first place.

For the person who appreciates the luxury hotel experience

Soriano nel Cimino is a small town, and our rentals are centrally located in the medieval quarter. In the main piazza, which is only a few hundred feet from the homes, there is a store where you will find your primary contact. Think of the store as the front desk, and think of her as your receptionist and concierge. She can arrange housekeeping, taxis, rental cars, etc. She will arrange for a porter to take care of your bags, and she will show you to your home. If you lose your key, she will have a spare. If you have any questions, she will have your answers. If something isn't working, she will get it fixed. She is the person you sign in with, and the person you sign out with. You can go down to talk to her, or you can call her. It is no different than going from your room to the front desk in a major hotel, except it is a walk through the village into the piazza, rather than a walk through hallways and elevators to the front desk.

Even closer to your home is another store that provides key business services, with whom we have an agreement. Think of this as the hotel's business center. They offer fax services, document printing, storage media, and much more.

Within the village there are several restaurants. These restaurants have agreements with us, providing discounted menus and english speaking waiters. Again, they are within a few hundred feet of your home. Think of them as you would a hotel restaurant.

Our homes carry a standard of excellence. We know that someone staying in a luxury hotel has certain expectations. A clean and well appointed room, internet access, climate control, television with english channels, a comfortable bed with very comfortable pillows and sheets. You will find all of this in our homes, and much more. Our homes are unique, and decorated well beyond a hotel. We offer full kitchens, DVD player, an in-room computer, all without the extra charges a hotel tacks on for these things.

Still, we take it another step further. Unlike the hotel, we don't welcome you with mini shampoo bottles and a piece of paper across the toilet. We welcome you with fresh flowers, freshly baked pastries, freshly baked bread, a bottle of wine, local olive oil, local cheeses, coffee ready to brew, and much more. You won't find a mini-bar. Instead, you will find milk, sodas and mineral water in the refrigerator. Fresh fruit on the counter, and much more. More importantly, you won't find a price list for these things and automatic sensors in the refrigerator like you would in a hotel. It is all complimentary... our way of welcoming you to our paradise in the stunning beauty of central Italy.

All of this is designed to make sure that you get as much of the luxury hotel experience, without it being in your face.

For the person that wants to 'wing it', and immerse fully in the culture

The really nice thing about the way we provide services, is that they are there only if you want them. In a hotel, you have to use the elevator, walk down the hallways, and pass the front desk to leave. But our homes are in the village, so the infrastructure we offer guests is invisible unless you want to see it. You will have all of the services available if you need them, but if you don't want them, you won't notice them at all. This is important because when you least expect it, the infrastructure we offer may suddenly be needed. For example, if you suddenly have a medical emergency, you will know what to do. You will have contacts who are aware of your presence, are close by, and are there to help you when you are in need. But if you never need them, they can be nothing more than the people you pick the keys up from and drop them off with. Think of it as an insurance policy. You are on your own, but you have a backup just in case.
